Room 10

Our Hubert Parry room is named for the influential English composer, teacher, and music historian who lived between 1848 and 1918. He’s best known for his rousing choral work, Jerusalem, based on the poem by William Blake. Parry sketched the score for Jerusalem in The Swan Inn’s Visitor’s Book. He was a friend of Sir Edward Elgar’s, and we like to imagine them sharing a pint together at the bar while discussing their latest cadences.

The Hubert Parry room is in the Victorian wing, overlooking the garden. Dark blues and soft reds blend with neutral wools and linens, layered together with patterned wallpaper.
